Mystery Card

scunknown 102014 3Here is what I call a “mystery card” that I made intuitively (oh, SO intuitively) a few months ago.Ā  I define a Mystery Card as one that I have NO CLUE as to what it means, even though I absolutely am drawn to it in some way.

Some Mystery Cards remain Mystery Cards for a looooooong time.Ā  Some reveal themselves right away. I have found that it’s best to be patient (not my strongest suit) when working with these.

In my experience, I’ve found that it’s sometimes difficult to dive right into the I Am the One Who… journaling exercise with it.Ā  For me, when working with a card like this, I find it helpful to start with a DETAILED PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION of what is actually on the card.Ā  First, I scan the card with my eyes slowly from left to right… and then right to left.Ā  Then top to bottom… and bottom to top.Ā  It’s a very left-brain kindof exercise, which can sometimes be helpful before jumping headfirstĀ  into the intuitive.Ā  Also, it’s helpful for me because I’m not so focused on discovering something deep and meaningful in the card!Ā  For me, it affects a good balance of the left and right brain.

As I scan, I am asking my brain to register things like: colors, shapes, symbols, dark/light, objects, people, animals.Ā  I am thinking of words like:

next to
beside
on top of
under
inside
outside
over
above
between

Here is my PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION of this Mystery Card:

There is a woman with feathers as wings and she is standing in a yoga balance pose.Ā  All of her body except her head is inside of a glass jar that is glowing with light.Ā  The jar rests on a large body of water.Ā  On either side of the woman is a long row of lighted luminarias.

The water in front of the woman is lit from the glow of the setting sun. Or maybe it is the rising sun?Ā  Her arms are lifted over her head and her hands are pointing upward in prayer/praise.Ā  She is facing towards the setting/rising sun.

Usually, after writing a detailed description like that, I find it easier to get into the I Am the One Who…

Who are you?Ā  I am the one who stands in the light.Ā  I am the one at the beginning of a pathway of light.Ā  I am the one with wings.Ā  I am the one who lifts my arms in praise.Ā  I am the one whose pathway is lined with light.Ā  I am the one standing inside of a glass jar but I know I can lift up and away any time I choose because I am the one who has WINGS!!!

What do you have to give me?Ā  I give you light.Ā  I give you the gift of wings.Ā  I give you the ability to fly free at anytime.Ā  I gift you with balance!Ā  I give you a moment of pause and stillness at the beginning of a journey.Ā  I give you the knowing that your journeys are always infused with and surrounded by light.

What do you want from me? I want you to remember to lift your being in gratitude before you start any long journey.Ā  I want you to remember that you are never fully trapped/encased, that you can fly free at any time.Ā  I want you to PAUSE AND APPRECIATE THE LIGHT THAT IS ALL AROUND YOU.

NOW…. YOU TRY IT!

Take one of your own Mystery Cards and start by slowly scanning it and noticing everything on it.Ā  Then write a detailed description of it. Set the timer for five minutes and go!Ā  When you are done, launch right into asking the card “Who are you?” and then let the being or beings on the card tell you its story.

Life is Sacred

scwritingsoulThis image of the woman breathing in the flowers and the light came to me in a foreign magazine a few years ago. I think it was a French magazine and this might have been an ad for perfume!

This is one of those cards that I made because I loved it so much, and then put in my deck and forgot about it.Ā  But I worked with her recently and here is what she said.

I am the one who is savoring the scent of the flowers.Ā  I am the one who is breathing in the Light from the Divine, from the entire Universe.

I am the one who is in the present moment, this moment, right now. I have left behind the past and I do not even wonder about the future.

I am the one who holds the flowers in my hands and treasures their beauty, their presence.Ā  I am the one who savors life, who holds life as sacred, part of the Mystery.

My message for you today is this- take some more time today to close your eyes and breathe in how precious your life is.

Freedom

scunknown111Here is a card I made last year at our annual KaleidoSoul SoulCollageĀ® retreat. I made it intuitively, just loving the images and putting them together on the mat board in a way that felt satisfying to my eye and also to my soul.

I recently worked with this Neter and here is what she told me:

I am the one who offers myself to the Divine Universe- take me, I’m Yours.Ā  I am the one who has stripped off all clothing, all masks, all illusions.Ā  I am the one who is wide open, trusting.

I am the one who was behind closed doors but now I am free.Ā

I am the one who offers up all that I am and all I have, who is willing to let it all go in this powerful stance of open glory.

i am the one who can go and hide behind that heavy door again, where it is safe, but now I feel no need to shut myself back up again.

I love the feeling of expansiveness, of freedom in this card. Sometimes I think of her as the part of me who used to be locked up/imprisoned by my sugar addiction and who now is free from it.Ā  And other times I think of her as the one whose life was halted for a year in 2011-12 when I had to deal with cancer again.

For now, this card, for me, is hard to classify. It will take some more work with this Neter to discover which category to place her in.Ā  And I may never know.Ā  For now, it is enough that she is here, that this part of me is free.

Mystic

Another Mystery Card!
Another Mystery Card!

This is a card that I made quite a while ago without knowing who she was. I know you can’t see the face, however I have always just known inside that this is a female!

I worked with this card recently in one of my every-0ther-daily readings and this is what she said to me:

I am the one who gazes into the crystal ball.Ā  i am the one who cups the future in my hands.Ā  i am the one who is guided and watched over by the Light of Spirit.

I am the one who doesn’t need to show my face.Ā

I am the one who is hidden behind the black cloak of mystery.Ā  I am the one who looks into the future.

My message for you today is this: I see what I see and I knwo what I know.Ā  The mystery of the future is not always mine for the telling.Ā  You are to trust in your own power to create your own future. That is all. That is enough.

Powerful

I am the one who is powerful.
I am the one who is powerful.

I made this card YEARS ago and at the time it was speaking to me about power- good power, centered and balanced strength and power.

As the years have gone by, however, another meaning has come forth from this card.Ā  And believe it or not, I didn’t actually notice the larger hand in the background which is holding up the earth.

This Neter showed up today for me in my Every-Other-Daily-Reading and this is what it said to me:

I am the one who is powerful.Ā  I am the one who gets my strength and power from a place of balance and centeredness.

I am the one who can carry ANYthing because there is a Power greater than me doing the actual carrying.

What I have to say to you today is this- What are you struggling to carry right now? Name it.

Can you be still for a moment and see that Another Hand is already carrying it for you?

Ah!Ā  I love it when my cards ask ME questions in return!
