I made this card intentionally, to express an inner part of me that has been stifling and complicating my journey for a looooong time now. Who are you? I am the one who sees disaster right in front of me but I deny that it has anything to do with me. I am the one who keeps my cool, who sits on my throne and surveys the damage from a distance. I am the one who smiles my beatific smile and pretends that everything is okay when really it is anything but okay. I am the one who sees pirate ships nearby, and to protect you, I act like everything is all right. I am the one who denies disasters, problems, calamities and challenges. I am the one who watches the TV news and says “Don’t worry about it, it has nothing to do with you,” when they are talking about global warming or environmental issues. I am the one who tells you not to worry about your weight problem, to go ahead and have another cookie because it doesn’t matter. I am the one who is smiling on the outside, always, to hide the distress that is happening on my inside. I am the one who doesn’t want to get involved with the messiness of life, the ugliness of feelings. What do you have to give me? I give you protection from difficult feelings and situations. I give you a safe distance from the horrors and difficulties of life. I give you an escape from dealing with the messiness of feelings like fear and pain and sorrow and rejection and anger and loss. What do you want from me? I want you to be safe and happy. I want you to be free from life’s trials and tribulations. I want you to know that I have been working very, very hard to protect you from the hard painful work of dealing with difficult emotions.
Cosmic Gardener- Council Suit
Who are you? I am the one who tends to all growing things. I am the one who kneels in prayer and gratitude as things and people grow. I am the one who shelters growing things in the light. What do you have to give me? I give you knowledge that your inner growth is not unnoticed. I give you as much inner growth as your mind and soul and body are ready for. I give you strength in your growth, gratitude for your growth, peace and light in your growth. What do you want from me? I want you to know that you are not alone on your quest for inner growth. I want you to remember that your growth is in my hands and that you need not worry, that my work is good.
Go For It- Committee Suit
I made this card totally intuitively. I’d been holding onto the rainbow-colored, light-filled flowers for a loooong time before finding the right other images to fit with them.
I’m still not sure that “Go For It” is the “right” name for this card, but it will have to do for now.
Also, a friend of mine saw it and thought it looked pretty cool held vertically too!
Who are you?
I am the one who is reaching for the light. I am the one who is delighted to get my hand around this unique, colorful, lit-like-a-rainbow flower. I am the one who is reaching for the mystery and the magic.
What do you have to give me? I give you permission to reach for the brightness that is rooted in your life. I give you delight and joy in the seeking and the finding. I give you mystery and color and bright full magic, all of it is yours in your life.
What do you want from me? I want you to breathe deeply, smile and reach for your dreams… reach for the magic and the mystery that is all around you. Let your life be as colorful and exciting as you want. Let yourself feel entitled and deserving. It is all there for you to take!
Artist’s Muse- Council Suit
I created this card after I found the image of the woman sitting at her messy art table. I just loved how she was looking me in the eye, seemingly to say, “Stop frittering around with excuses, and just sit at your own art table and make something!” I really love the audacious but compassionate look about her. If ever a Muse was going to inspire me, it would be her!
Who are you? I am the one who watches over your artist self. I am the one who KNOWS for absolute positive certain that you love to mess around with paints and collage ephemera and color. I am the one who says JUST DO IT!
What do you have to give me? I give you permission to play at your art table, permission to create.
What do you want from me? I want you to slow down enough to look me in the eye. I want you to slow down enough to recognize how deep my calling is to your soul. I want you to ask yourself, “Why are you NOT creating?”
Angel of Patience- Council Suit
I made this card intuitively a few years ago, and realized that she was a Council Suit member of my Deck only after I did the interpretation below: Who are you? I am the one who gives you the gift of Patience, who reminds you that big things like losing weight and making a marriage stronger, takes TIME. I am the one who believes in Kaizen, tiny steps for big growth. I am the angel who delights in taking things slowly, who whispers in your ear when you get discouraged. I am the one who continues to nurture the inner growth in spite of outer disasters such as thunderstorms, tornadoes, and other bad-things-that-happen-to-good-people. What do you give me? I give you patience with yourself as you go through the long process of bringing your body back to its natural weight. I give you a steady focus on inner growth while you are losing the weight, no matter what is happening outside of you. I give you knowledge of the “big picture” as each tedious day goes by. What do you want from me? I want you to see the big picture, to remember the Kaizen way, to slow down and be patient, to give yourself time. NOTES FROM DAILY READINGS: July 2006- Growing a garden, growing even just ONE flower takes time. Much time. Come and sit in my garden today… and every day.
