About This Issue- Gulf Oil Crisis

I’d like to offer a very special thank you to Lin on our KaleidoSoul Yahoo Group, who suggested that SoulCollagers create cards about how they are responding to the Gulf Oil Crisis and/or offering prayers for healing of this tragedy.

All of the cards in this issue were created in response to Lin’s suggestion, and as editor of Soul Songs, I have been moved to tears at the response.

My hope is that each of us will use this issue as a springboard of faith, hope and love whenever we find our thoughts turning towards the crisis in the Gulf.

My prayer is that the images here will give our hearts and minds something to feast on besides what we are seeing on the evening news and in the media every day.

A Prayer for Healing

Dr. Masaru Emoto is a scientist from Japan whose research has revealed that water physically responds to emotions. Right now many people are understandably angry when they consider the Gulf oil spill. Yet we might be of greater assistance to Earth and all the Living if we sincerely, powerfully and humbly pray this prayer that Dr Emoto has created:

I send the energy of love and gratitude to the water and all the living creatures in the Gulf of Mexico and its surroundings. To the whales, dolphins, pelicans, fish, shellfish, plankton, coral, algae, and all living creatures . . . I am sorry. Please forgive us. Thank you. I love you.

SoulCollagers Respond

I am one who desires healing for the earth.

I Am the One Who Heals the Gulf, from tiniest coral bud to heartiest fisherman. I Am the One Who Heals the Gulf, purifying the water with pure salt and light. I Am the One Who Heals the Gulf, restoring ocean plants to vigor and life. I Am the One Who Heals the Gulf, from fishes to turtles, dolphins to whales. I Am the One Who Heals the Gulf, cleansing the beaches and winged ones. I Am the One Who Heals the Gulf,
the child who never repeats this wound on our Mother Earth.

I Am the One Who is connected in Spirit with all creatures that are suffering due to the polluted waters in the world. I Am the One Who asks for forgiveness for my contribution to the problem. I Am the One Who prays and sends healing thoughts so the waters are restored to its pristine condition.

I am one who sends the energy of love and gratitude to the water and all the living creatures in the Gulf of Mexico and its surroundings. To the whales, dolphins, pelicans, fish, shellfish, plankton, coral, algae, and all living creatures… …..I am sorry. Please forgive me. Thank You. I love you.

I Am The One Who has withstood the ravages of time.
I Am The One Who believes in cycles of healing.
I Am The One Who always finds a way to sustain life.
May we always recognize our Mother’s strength.

I (the Web) am the one who holds all of creation in my heart and in my self/web. Each part is connected to the whole. When one is hurting; all feel the drain on their life energies. When one is healed/restored; all feel their strength renewed.

I am the One who gives life. I am the One who honors and celebrates the circle of life when its ebb and flow is in sync with the rhythms of Life.

I am the One who weeps when one of my creatures wreaks havoc on others. I am the One who moves towards wholeness, cradling creation as a Mother holds her babies… loving them into being… nurturing and protecting them as they grow… and laying them to rest when their rightful time has come.

I am the One who is the Web… I am the One who is the Weaver… I am the Many… I am the One.

I am the one who cares about the future of our children.
I am the one who knows that life comes out of tragedy.
I am the one who holds the future in my hands.
I am the one whose heart burns with the desire for our earth to be healed.

I Am the One Who is working incessantly recycling and purifying the waters of the world. I Am the One Who renews and transforms the waters infusing them new life and divine energy for the healing of all living creatures.

We are all children of the sea even if our feet never touch salty waves.
The sea runs within my veins, and I can no longer rest peacefully. I sense Mother Ocean refusing to be placated though she suffers severely from misuse. I am one who hears her alarm loud and clear – a wake-up call to pay attention, to change our ways of interacting with her.

and love is all there is.

I am one who sends waves of love to the oily water.
I am one who sees the pristine waters replacing those tainted with chemicals. I am one who prays that life be restored.
I am one who offers my heart. I am one who knows that healing is possible. I am one who expects healing.
I am one who sees an ocean teeming with life.
I am one who sees restoration.

I am the one who holds the earth and all living creatures in my arms and in my breath and in my smile. I am the one who weeps when humankind does not respect the earth, the air, the water, the fire. I am the one who brings healing if you but ask me for my help.

I am the one who fears for my tomorrow, for the earth and what’s to come. This is only one of many wreckings of our planet. Are you leaving anything for tomorrow? Or only a crown of destruction and the stench of death? Pray for us. Pray for what is to come. Pray for the earth and her healing. Pray for our generation. We are watching you. We are waiting, and we are hoping.

I am the One Who Will continue to Bless you. I Am the One Who Cries with you. I am the One Who Honors you. I am the One who Grieves with you. I am the One Who Comforts you and will make you Whole again.
I am the One who will enfold you in my Arms
and Whisper Hope, Hope, Hope into your Ears.

I am the One who teems with life and energy, offering up my bounty for your enjoyment and your livelihood.

I am the One who lives in a delicate balance with all of the elements of the natural world and needs your respect and protection to preserve that balance rather than to defile it with your arrogance and greed.

I am the One who has within my vastness and my Soul the power of forgiveness and regeneration because I am part of that invisible web of all creation which continues to birth new creatures even as minions are gasping for air and oxygen and dying at your feet.

I am the One who hopes that the pain in your hearts will not too soon be forgotten. I am the One who hopes that the ache in your gut will spur you to action.

I am the One who hopes that the torment in your mind will prompt you to learn what you need to do to hold systems accountable and to assure that such “accidents” do not happen again.

I am the One who lifts up the colors of the rainbow to inspire you to believe and to hope and to recommit anew to living in harmony with me.

I can forgive. I can heal. I can renew and regenerate… but only with your care and with your help. Hold me in love… and I will be restored.

The one who feels the calmness and relaxation of water.
I am the one is feels the healing power of water.

I Am the One Who aches and cries for all creatures that are dying contaminated with oils and chemicals, because of the lack of mankind’s awareness.

I Am the One Who hears the pleas of many hearts wishing for healing for all the creatures that inhabit the waters.

I Am the One Who looks at all my children
with compassion and tenderness.

I am the one who prays for the return of harmony in the gulf.
I am the one who mourns the loss of its beauty.
I am the one who wishes to swim again with the fishes.
I am the one who cares about our children’s future.
I am the one who knows that life comes out of tragedy.
I am the one who holds the future in my hands.
I am the one whose heart burns with the desire for our earth to be healed.

I am one with great beauty and abundance.
I am filled with interconnected life.
Help me through this period of darkness. I am the gulf.
