5. Ideas from People Who Have Been Using the Itty Bitty Deck

For General Use

• • Before jumping in and writing, take a minute to simply hold the question card (words) in your left hand and your SoulCollage card (images) in your right hand. Give  your brain time to process/assimilate the two before you begin writing.

 

• • You don’t always have to write out the answers. You could simply prop up the question and your card and leave it out all day. Notice them every time you walk by. Let it percolate and work its way into your body, mind, and spirit. ~ T. Diaz, Colorado

 

• • Once in a while, give yourself an hour or two (or even more) between the time you draw/choose the question card and the SoulCollage card.  You don’t always have to do the journaling immediately. ~ T. Diaz, Colorado

 

• • • Snip the sharp edges of the Itty Bitty cards with a corner rounder. You’ll find they slide more easily into the organza bag this way!  ~ from Kira in Texas

  • • Since my SoulCollage deck is all digital, I do all my readings with the SoulCollage app. This works with the app too! I tried doing a 4-card reading with 4 cards in the app and 4 Itty Bitty questions that I drew randomly. Worked great! ~ Kira Bolding, Texas

  • I used the cards once a day, six days in a row. Each time, I prepared sacred space- incense, candles, meditation music…etc. I shuffled the Itty Bitty deck each time before drawing a card. For Facilitators Using The Questions with Groups

• • I will use these in my women’s circles as a way for them to get to know a card- either by everyone focusing on the same question (which I might randomly draw or intentionally choose, depending on the group), or by allowing each person to choose 1 question randomly. ~ Christine Heer, Massachusetts

 

• • I used the Itty Bitty Deck with a Zoom group. Each person chose a SoulCollage card to work with, and then I randomly drew a question card for each person to answer from the voice of their chosen SoulCollage.  In one case, the question was “What is your favorite book?” and a participant responded immediately, “My favorite book is To Kill A Mockingbird. I am the one who is Scout running away in my slip from my tormentors.” On her card was an image of a little girl running from right to left. She had not previously thought of her card as representing Scout, but the question prompted it for her.  ~ Dot Everhart, Pennsylvania

 

• • If you’re doing an online Zoom class, the Facilitator might want to draw 3 or 4 Itty Bitty questions randomly and hold them up or type them in the chat box and let the participants each choose which one to answer. ~ Dot Everhart, Pennsylvania

 

• • Allow each person in the workshop to draw 1 Itty Bitty question randomly from a small hat/bucket/basket/box ONLY AFTER you have done the basic journaling exercise with them, as a fun way for them to get to know their Neter a little better.
