Working with a Mystery Card

 STEP 1

Choose a card from your deck that you’re unsure of.  This could be a card you’ve already worked with and are still confused about.  Or it could be a card that you made intuitively and that feels mysterious to you.

STEP 2

Hold the card in your hands and give yourself a couple of minutes just gazing at it.  Breathe slowly and consciously. Notice what is there.  Scan it from top to bottom slowly, and left to right.  Use your index finger to slowly and reverently trace any of the beings/objects that are on the card.  Stay connected to your breath while you are doing this.

STEP 3

Listen to Anne Marie’s guided meditation: Journey with a SoulCollage Card. (11 minutes)

STEP 4

Make a few notes in your journal about what you want to remember from the meditation.

STEP 5

Take a look at your card again.  Write a detailed description of it in your journal.  Spend a good ten minutes doing this.  Describe it as if you were writing an email to a friend and you want them to know every detail!  Include, colors, people, objects, beings, and also note placement (ie: behind, in front of, next to…etc.).  Also describe any action that is taking place and any feelings that are being expressed.

Example below.

STEP 6

In your journal, write these questions and then write the answers as if the Neter itself were speaking to you.

  • Who are you?
  • What do you have to give me?
  • What do you want from me?

Example below.

STEP 7

Slowly read over everything that you’ve written in your journal so far. This will include your notes from the meditation, your detailed description and the answers to the three questions.

As you read, circle or highlight any words or phrases that jump out at you. Don’t THINK about this… just trust your deepest inner knowing. What words sound good to your ear? What phrases ring of truth?  Circle or highlight anything that stands out to you.

STEP 8

In your journal, on a separate page, make a list of all of the words and phrases you circled.

Example below.

STEP 9

Now look at that list you just made.  Read it once through carefully.  Maybe it sounds pretty cool exactly like it is. If so, skip this step!  If not, read on…

Take as many of these words and phrases as you like and rearrange them into a list that sounds like it flows.  You can leave some words out if you want BUT it is strongly suggested that you don’t add very many words.

Example below.

ANNE MARIE’S DECK

STEP 5- Example

There is a young woman with long black hair and she is lying on a ramp painted bright colors of green and yellow and orange.  Her eyes are closed.  She is lying on her back.  Her hips are raised and her right leg is stretched out over her head.  Her left leg is raised and at an angle, foot pointing forward.  Even though she is slanting backward, she is still and centered and at peace.  Her leotard is bright orange and many rainbow stripes and streamers adorn her tights.  Behind her are many many windows and each is a different bright color.  Each window shows reflections of other scenes and some show the scenes behind them but more are reflections and not views outward.

STEP 6- Example

Who are you?
I am the one who is perfectly comfortable where I am and in this position.  I am the one who loves rainbows.  I am the one who can be centered even if I am upside down and backward.  I am the one with a strong core.  I cannot be in this position without a strong core.  I am the one who has shut out the distractions of the brightness around me.

What do you have to give me?
I give you a strong stable core so that whatever position you’re in, you can be calm and centered.  I give you the ability to be flexible yet unmoving in your center.  I give you stillness amidst the world’s distractions.

What do you want from me?
I want you to be still like this more often no matter what is going on around you.  I want yo uto embrace the rainbows of possibility within as well as outside of you.  I want you to know that no matter what position you are in, your core essence is strong enough to support your need for silence and stillness.
