    My Transpersonal Witness Card

I have been practicing SoulCollage for almost four years now and I finally made my Witness card a few months ago.  You can see it on my blog, Inner Surprises.

I made it completely intuitively.  In other words, I had no idea I was making my Witness card when I created it. I was inexplicably drawn to the young man in the black coat, and then went in search of backgrounds to put him against.

However, I felt a visceral recognition in the core of my body as soon as I saw his image in  front of  the rainbow and the light streaming down on the people in that black and white scene.  This is my Witness, I thought happily to myself.  I knew him for who he is, that part of my soul that brings me (and all of my inner parts) into consciousness, as Seena Frost says in her article on the Transpersonal Cards.
If you are new to SoulCollage, please don't worry  about making any of the Transpersonal cards right away.  I didn't!  Simply read Seena's article and the articles in this newsletter, and allow your soul to absorb as much as it wants to at this time from the Witness cards displayed here, and the information given.

You might even want to join us in our monthly tele-class on November 19 where Mariabruna Sirabella, SoulCollage Facilitator and Facilitator Trainer in California, will help us to understand the Transpersonal Cards even more.

Continue making your SoulCollage cards intuitively, and I promise that, in time.... in your own time... your Witness will make itself known to you.

Anne Marie Bennett is a freelance writer, self- taught artist, SoulCollage® Facilitator and Facilitator Trainer who trained with Seena Frost. Her background is elementary education, computer software training, writing, and mixed media art. She lives, laughs, writes, and sings (and makes her own SoulCollage® cards!) in Beverly, MA. More of Anne Marie's cards/interpretations are available on her blog, Inner Surprises.

Soul Symphonies with Karen
My name is Karen Mann and I'm a SoulCollage® facilitator from Melbourne, Australia. This column is for those of you who have already made some cards & are ready to discover the symphony of voices inside of you and around you.

When I first learned to meditate, myteacher my teacher told me to observe my thoughts flow by, like sticks andleaves floating down a stream or to imagine I was sitting at the peak of amountain, watching my thoughts drift by, like clouds. She told me to observe mythoughts, from a detached space. Not grasp at the clouds, or follow the sticks. She told me not to become too interested in these thoughts, or get caught up inthese thoughts.  She encouraged me just tonotice them and let them float by.

At the time I didn't realise it, but shewas teaching me to use my "Witness".  TheWitness is part of our consciousness.  Itis the part that allows us to watch ourselves, without judgement, like lookingin a mirror, seeing yourself just as you are, without any filters.  While everyone has a Witness, it is developedto differing levels in different people, and can be enhanced and strengthenedthrough spiritual practices, like meditation.

Seena Frost says: "The Witness is a given inevery soul.... It draws us up to higher and higher consciousness, towards thecapacity to see the play of our inner parts against the backdrop of the Source. The Witness sees without judgement."

As a Transpersonal card the Witness doesnot "speak" (we do not do "I am one who..."with this card) and it does not have a shadow side.  My Witness sees my inner world clearly, butdoes not get involved in interpreting or evaluating.  Seena Frost says that the Witness "...sees our unique SoulEssence manifesting diversity in the midst of DivineOneness."

My Witness card is one I made intuitively, before I had heard about Seena's suggestion of making a Witness card.  Upon hearing the description of the Witness Irealised that I already had a card which represented this energy.

My Witness card shows a woman with someceramic ducks "flying" past her face. She is "witnessing" them pass across in front of her.  Her face is passive.  She is watching and noticing, but notresponding or judging.

To me this SoulCollagecard really captures the feeling of observing my thoughts floating by- likeclouds past a mountain, or ducks flying past in the sky.  My Witness watches "the play of my inner parts" as an impartialspectator, without comment or interpretation.

As promised, we are featuring SoulCollage® cards from our readers in each issue.

In keeping with this month's theme, each card below (and on the additional page) represents one SoulCollager's Transpersonal Witness Card.

Because the Witness Card is one of the Transpersonal Cards in a SoulCollage Deck, it does not have a "voice" (I Am The One Who...) as do the other cards in your Deck.

If you are interested in this topic, you might find Seena Frost's article on "The Transpersonal Cards of a SoulCollage Deck."
