- Seena Frost is the one who created SoulCollage®. Visit Seena's website and see what four cards come up for you in the automatic reading, then read some of Seena's articles.
- Read Seena's book, SoulCollage.
- Listen to Seena's CD, Introduction to SoulCollage.

What are Archetypes?
One of the hardest things for most beginning (and experienced!) SoulCollagers to grasp is the concept of archetypes, and I was no exception! But I trusted the process, and Seena's words, and now (slowly but surely) it is all coming together.
If you find yourself in the same position: struggling to understand what exactly an archetype is and which ones have been most active in your own life.... I am here to tell you one thing-- DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT!
Just continue the process of finding images that you love, creating cards with them, and letting them speak using the
I AM THE ONE WHO exercise. Eventually, I promise, you will come across one that speaks to your life in a more mystical, spirit-giving way, and that will be your first Council card!
There are some excellent books you can use to learn more about this fascinating topic (see KaleidoSoul Notes, in the lower right column of this newsletter). You also can reference Seena's book, and the KaleidoSoul Page on the Council Suit. Or you can try out a KaleidoSoul e-course... there's one called Invisible Hands, and it's specifically created to help you understand the concept of archetypes more clearly and within the container of your own life's journey.
Also, be sure to read Karen Mann's column below, where she focuses in on the archetypes of Teacher and Student. Perhaps her words and SoulCollage cards will lend a bit more insight into your own understanding of archetypes and the SoulCollage Council Suit.

Soul Symphonies With Karen |  My name is Karen Mann and I'm a SoulCollage® facilitator from Melbourne, Australia. This column is for those of you who have already made some cards & are ready to discover the symphony of voices inside of you and around you.
Exploring the Student & Teacher Archetype  About ten years ago, when I was feeling stuck and was searching for some answers, I went to a tarot reader to see if they could give me some guidance. I remember that this tarot reader told me that I was a teacher and also a student. As a qualified teacher who was not currently teaching, but who was studying a part-time administration course, I paid little heed to her observations. I was working in a bank, and being a teacher and a student didn't seem to have much relevance to my life or career at the time.
As it turns out, this tarot reader was actually picking up on some major archetypal energies in my life. I am an eternal student, having spent thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours studying, and now I am also really beginning to embrace my role as a teacher (and workshop facilitator) too. When I began looking through my SoulCollage deck, I found that I actually have at least six cards that depict aspects of teaching and learning, most of which I made intuitively. What I found particularly interesting is that a number of the cards, which I made at different times, seem to unintentionally share some of the same symbols. My "Teacher" Council card (see above) shows a flower growing; the blossoming flower & the supporting root system are both being nurtured through my teaching. "I am the one who nurtures both that which can be seen and that which can't." This card reminded me of the quote by Henry Brooks Adams which says "A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops."
