Soul Singing with Anne Marie
Anne Marie, the creator of KaleidoSoul.com
Hi! I'm Anne Marie, the creator of KaleidoSoul.com, and a SoulCollage® facilitator in Massachusetts. If you're just starting to sing your song with SoulCollage®, this column is especially for you.

Anne Marie is enjoying a summer respite from writing columns right now. Please enjoy Linda Woolfson’s column, below.

When there’s a disappointment,
I don’t know if it’s
the end of the story.
But it may be just
the beginning of a great adventure.

~ Pema Chodron

Anne Marie Bennett is a writer, self-taught artist, website goddess, cancer survivor, and SoulCollage® Facilitator / Trainer who was mentored directly by Seena Frost. In 2005, she fell in love with SoulCollage® and was inspired to use her professional experience along with Internet technology as a means to serve the world by putting SoulCollage® "out there" in a really big way with KaleidoSoul. Anne Marie lives in eastern Massachusetts with her middle-aged husband, an elderly dog and two adolescent felines who keep them all young. You can read more about how SoulCollage® assisted her on her cancer journey on her website SOS Cancer Journeys. Anne Marie's newest book, Through the Eyes of SoulCollage® is now available.

OUR NEXT TELE-CLASS

The Both/And of SoulCollage®
 & the Labyrinth

60 minute SoulCollage® tele-class
with SoulCollage® Facilitator

Marcia Chadley  from Colorado

Are you looking for a tool to go deeper with SoulCollage®? Or maybe you already enjoy both SoulCollage® and labyrinths and are intrigued with the idea of using them together? Labyrinths and SoulCollage® are both great tools to connect with your inner beings, to access your inner wisdom, and to seek answers and guidance. Their similarities and differences make them good partners that expand and compliment each other. This program gives you ideas to use them as support and inspiration for each other. Instead of choosing one or the other approach, let's combine them and watch what happens. Both/and takes you further and deeper than either choice on its own.

Visit this page to download the handout Marcia will be using during this class.

Guest Columnist: Linda Woolfson

I’m Linda Woolfson, MA, PhD, a SoulCollage® Trainer & Facilitator, writer, translator and creativity catalyst with a particular passion for bringing words and images together to fire our imagination and enhance our lives. Adventure is a concept full of archetypal and mythical resonance. Yet the adventurous spirit can take many forms.

Isn’t “adventure” a lovely word? Full of myth and fairy-tale: swashbuckling deeds on the high seas, St. George slaying the dragon, tales of “derring do,” and “devil may care,” pulling Excalibur out of the stone, valor, bravery, heroes and maidens, jousting and favors. “Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair!” Such words and phrases resonate with the active, daring, risk-taking, usually male energy of the archetypal Adventure.

To get myself into the spirit, I decided to take myself on an adventure by calling on my Neters. I asked them what guidance they had for me about adventure in the here and now. It was as always extraordinary to see which cards appeared. Apart from my Inner Critic (first card drawn - no surprise!) two newish Council faces rose up to meet my gaze.

“Focus” had this to say:

I am one who reminds you that adventure involves Resolve. From the mists of time Adventurers have decided, in an irreversible nano-second, to go on an Adventure. Once the Call to Adventure has come, there is no going back – just focusing on the road ahead, calling on the spirits for trust, courage and protection. Going on an Adventure involves Commitment!

Thank you, Focus – I hadn’t thought of this before: the Call to Adventure arrives like a command or a summons, often as if from forces outside ourselves. There is often a sacred quality about the call, requiring us to honor it by setting out and seeing the adventure through to the end. And once we’ve said “Yes,” there’s no messing about! There can be no adventure without risk and danger.

My last card was “Invitation to Enter the Mystery.”

I am one who is a Messenger from the Great Unknown. Read the sacred white mud on my face. What you read on my face is “there”. Trust your intuition – your own intuition is your guide once you’ve said “Yes” to the spirit of Adventure. Adventure is everywhere – I challenge you to find it in strange places.

I love the idea of “finding adventure in strange places.” Don’t we all love the hush that falls once our questions have been fine-tuned and the SoulCollage® group begins a reading? Isn’t a SoulCollage® reading always an adventure? Present right in that moment is a frisson of fear entwined with excitement– we never know which cards we’ll draw or what they’ll say.

To cultivate an awareness of the archetype of Adventure in some of its less obvious manifestations might be really helpful and even transformative. After all, the creative process itself contains all the ingredients of Adventure: the call, the resistance to the call, the shift out of a non- adventurous mode (a well-rehearsed routine, the relative safety of a “comfort zone”) into risk, faith, intuition, exploration, openness to the unexpected and an unstoppable urge to follow through to the end.

Linda Woolfson, MA, PhD is a SoulCollage® Facilitator and Trainer, writer, translator and creativity catalyst. Of South African origin, she now enjoys living a dual-based life between the United Kingdom and Portugal, running SoulCollage® and creativity workshops, retreats s & Trainings in both countries. Linda has been exploring the creative process through writing for many years and working with SoulCollage® since 2009. VIRTUAL COMMUNITY RETREAT DAY

You Are Invited:
Please join us for KaleidoSoul’s
SUMMER VIRTUAL RETREAT DAY
Saturday - July 15, 2017

For four hours we'll gather together via an easy-to-click-and-access Zoom video conference link where we can actually see each other. (You can also call in via phone).

We’ll begin with an Opening Circle to gather us into "retreat mode," plus teaching and guided meditation on getting in touch with our playful, happy inner selves which will lead us into talking about the healing power of humor, and how we can represent humor and playfulness more fully within our SoulCollage® Decks.

Then we'll break so everyone can be on their own an hour to make cards. We'll turn the recording off but Anne Marie will stay on the video link (as she makes her own cards) in case you have a question or want to share something.

After that we'll gather together for the last 90 minutes for some play-full as well as insight-full journaling, lots of sharing of our cards, and a closing circle to send us back out of the retreat and into our lives.

It's going to be AWESOME!

If you can't attend in person, we'll send you the recording of the first and last 90 minutes of teaching and examples, along with all handouts.

KaleidoSoul Creations
As promised, we are featuring SoulCollage® cards from our readers in each issue.

Each card below is a card from one SoulCollager's Deck that represents Adventure in their lives.

Sky Traveler
Committee Suit
Maxine
Massachusetts

I am the one who is light and free and unburdened. I am carried up and away to unknown, magical vistas with swaths of blues, greens and whites, in spacious sky and soft, puffy clouds. I love the adventure of the unknown, of dream landscapes.

Anytime, Anywhere
Committee-Council
Pennsylvania
Kas

I am the one who loves to take to the open road. The winding road holds many adventures and is an adventure in itself. I am the one who knows that a pace is important for me to notice if I choose to add-a-venture to my journey. Sometimes though, it chooses me and can be a total surprise, or is it? What I have to tell you is to do your best to wake up every morning expecting some sort of adventure. When you lay your head down at night, reflect on what may have opened up for you.

Road Trip
Committee Suit
Kat
Arizona

I Am One Who loves to go on road trips, especially in a great driving car. I love to explore new places, and just follow the road ahead. I see a road trip as a key to adventure.

The Traveler
Community Suit
Denise
California

I am the one who finds adventure on the road less traveled. I seek to not only know this land but to know myself one step at a time, for knowing myself is an adventure in and of itself. I brave the unknown with courage and excitement. It is the journey that calls to me, not the destination.

Skies the Limit
Committee Suit
Diane
Oregon

I am one who is called to explore the spirit of adventure without knowing where it will lead. I am one who knows that this unbridled quest will open me in ways I cannot even imagine. I am one who yearns for the growth that is waiting there.

Give yourself the restful space and time of three wonder-full days with other kindred, creative spirits who love SoulCollage® like you do! We'll explore the sacredness of SoulCollage® by surrounding ourselves with the Transpersonal energy of Source, SoulEssence and Witness. We'll also explore and share the meaning and power of synchronicity (which Carl Jung called "meaningful coincidences") during our card making and card readings, and delight in the Fool archetypal energy who weaves joyful surprises throughout the SoulCollage® process.
