Soul Singing with Anne Marie

Hi!  I'm Anne Marie, the creator of KaleidoSoul.com, and a SoulCollage®  facilitator in Massachusetts.  If you're just starting to sing your song with SoulCollage, this column is especially for you.

Suggestions for newcomers to SoulCollage:

  • Find a SoulCollage Facilitator near you.

  • Download the Getting Started with SoulCollage Workshop in a Box.

  • Visit KaleidoSoul and click on What is SoulCollage, SoulCollage Deck, and Making the Cards on the left menu.

  • Seena Frost is the one who created SoulCollage®. Visit Seena's website and see what four cards come up for you in the automatic reading, then read some of Seena's articles.

  • Read Seena's book, SoulCollage.

  • Listen to Seena's CD, Introduction to SoulCollage.

  • Don't forget to take it easy and always, always trust the processs!

    My Bodacious Bod

I created this SoulCollage card (above and to the right) to honor the part of me who loves my body no matter what I look like and who walks with confidence no matter how much I weigh.  I was originally drawn to the 3 central images and the card literally flew together and created itself.

Now let me make it clear that I don't always walk like this, and I don't always love my body unconditionally.  I have struggled for years with emotional eating and a poor body image.

But I keep this card in my deck to remind me that this part of me does indeed exist, even though it has been given little attention for so long.

I encourage you in the months ahead to listen to your own inner voices.  Is there a part of you who is proud of your beautiful body, no matter what it looks like, no matter what scars it shows or how many wrinkles it is blessed with?  Honor that part with a card.

There are so many ways to love our bodies, using the SoulCollage process.  We'll be discussing and practicing some of them during this month's KaleidoSoul Tele-Class, and I hope (with every fiber and muscle and inch of my bodacious bod) that you'll be able to join us!

Here are some books that have helped me on my own journey of increasing love (bit by precious bit) for my own body:

Fit From Within: 101 Simple Secrets to Change Your Body and Your Life, by Victoria Moran

If the Buddha Came to Dinner: How to Nourish Your Body to Awaken Your Spirit, by Hale Sofia Schatz.

Divining the Body: Reclaim the Holiness of Your Physical Self, by Jan Phillips

Weight Wisdom: Affirmations to Free You from Food and Body Concerns, by Kathleen Burns Kingsbury.

Sweat Your Prayers: Movement as Spiritual Practice, by Gabrielle Roth

Body Prayers: Finding Body Peace, A Journey of Self-Acceptance, by Rebecca Ruggles Radcliffe

Soul Symphonies with Karen
My name is Karen Mann and I'm a SoulCollage® facilitator from Melbourne, Australia. This column is for those of you who have already made some cards & are ready to discover the symphony of voices inside of you and around you.

Loving My Body: A SoulCollage Reading

Like many women around the world, I have struggled for a number of years with being overweight and I have watched my weight fluctuate up and down through a mix of emotional eating, fad dieting and occasional exercise.  One very powerful SoulCollage reading I did addressed the question "Which Neters will support me to lose weight and keep it off?"

This reading provided one of those great "aha" moments... clarifying that my focus should not be on my "weight problem."  Instead my attention should be directed towards becoming healthy as well as embracing, loving and caring for my body.

Here are the 3 cards that I drew in this reading:

Read Karen's entirearticle and see her SoulCollage cards that she drew in this reading on this KaleidoSoulpage.

SoulCollage® cards are made either from one's own art or from images found in materials which have been bought by or given to the SoulCollage card maker. These collaged cards are used only for the cardmaker's own inner exploration. SoulCollage cards are not sold, traded, bartered, or copied (except as a back-up for the cardmakers own use) as is stated in the "Principles of SoulCollage®." Where SoulCollage cards are available to be seen by others, it is for the purposes either of demonstrating the SoulCollage process or of sharing the cardmakers' inner process in the context of community. SoulCollage® is grateful to the artists and photographers who make this deep awakening process possible and in all ways SoulCollage®seeks to be respectful of their rights.

Blondination
Suit: Committee

Artist: Laurie
Location: Pennsylvania

I am the one who worships beauty, thinnessand blondness, and who tramples on, oppresses and violates myself because I do not meet these artificial and plastic standards.

I should look like. I am downtrodden to the point where I cannot look up
and see my own beauty and wholeness.  I have done it to myself, butone day soon I too will stand up and worship, not thinness, blondness and beauty, but my inner wholeness,
courage and strength.

I am the one who recognizes
my curves.
I am the one who accepts
my wrinkles.

very important person
in the universe.
